The Chinese Dietary Guidelines for the Elderly (2022) is an important component of the Chinese Dietary Guidelines (2022). It is applicable to people aged 65 and above, and is divided into two parts: the dietary guidelines for general elderly people (applicable to people aged 65 to 79) and the dietary guidelines for advanced elderly people (applicable to people aged 80 and above). These two guidelines are supplementary suggestions based on the dietary guidelines for the general population, tailored to the characteristics of the elderly.

· Consume a rich variety of foods, ensure an adequate intake of animal-based foods, and regularly eat soybean products.
· Encourage dining with companions, maintain a good appetite, and enjoy the deliciousness of food.
· Participate in active outdoor activities often, delay muscle mass decay, and maintain an appropriate body weight.
· Have regular health check-ups, assess nutritional status, and prevent nutritional deficiencies.
